Breast Enlargement (Breast Augmentation)

Breast augmentation surgery involves surgically inserting an implant behind the natural breast tissue or muscle to increase the size or improve breast symmetry. Your surgeon will advise you as to the most suitable type of implant, size, shape and placement to suit you for a more natural result.
This procedure lasts approximately one to two hours, and usually requires an overnight stay in hospital.

Breast Reduction

Here, the surgeon removes a pre-determined amount of breast tissue, whilst uplifting the remaining tissue, to reduce the size of breasts. To achieve the desired outcome, the surgeon may need to reposition the nipple and areola to give the breasts a natural appearance. In cases where the breasts are extremely large, nipple and areolar tissue may need to be excised and reapplied as a graft.

Surgery usually takes three hours to complete, depending on the breast size, and is carried out under general anaesthetic. Patients are required to stay in hospital for one to two nights.

Breast Reconstruction

Breast reconstruction is carried out on women who have undergone a mastectomy, or are diagnosed with a congenital deformity such as Poland Syndrome – an absence or underdevelopment of the chest muscle and breast gland on one side of the body.

During the procedure, surgeons create a breast pocket which is filled with your own tissue, with implants, or both as agreed by patient and surgeon at consultation. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic, and a one to two night hospital stay is required.

Breast Asymmetry

When breasts differ from each other in terms of size, shape and /or position, this corrective procedure can reduce the disparity, often with a solution as simple as an implant. On consultation your surgeon will discuss the best option for you. The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic, and a one to two night hospital stay is required.

Breast Uplift (Mastopexy)

For those seeking to change the shape of their breasts without significantly altering the size, Mastopexy surgery provides a solution.
During surgery loose skin is removed and the breast is lifted, while the nipple is repositioned centrally on the newly firm breast. Implants may be inserted when just a small amount of existing breast tissue is present. Your consultant will advise on the best option for you.
The operation is carried out under general anaesthetic, and a one to two night hospital stay is required.

Male Breast Reduction (Gynacomastia)

Gynacomastia, or the development of a breast gland in men, is a common condition affecting 40 - 60% of men. Commonly occurring in teenagers and ending before adulthood. Other causes include an increase in weight or weight loss – with pockets of fat settling in the chest area that are difficult to remove.
Easily treated under general anaesthetic, a small incision is made around the areolar / nipple area and breast tissue is removed. Liposuction may also be used to reshape the chest area. Following surgery a hospital stay of one to two nights is required. It is important to note that support garments must be worn for up to six weeks after the surgery.
