Botox

Eccles Clinic Botox InjectionBotox, used for both medical or cosmetic treatments, is a purified protein produced by the clostridium botulinum bacterium. This solution reduces activity in the muscles that cause frown lines between the brows to form over time. In 2002 Botox was approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the temporary treatment of moderate to severe frown lines between the brows.

Preparing For Your Treatment

Your consultant will meet with you to discuss any allergies or pre-existing conditions, and answer any questions you may have regarding Botox.

The Treatment

During your procedure very low doses of Botox are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles that cause lines to form. The injections block the transmission of nerve impulses to the targeted muscles, reducing their activity. No anaesthesia is required for Botox treatments, although an ice pack or mild local anaesthetic may be used to numb the area.

After The Procedure

Botox treatment is a quick procedure with no recovery time needed. Within days, you may see an improvement that can last up to four months.
